- Chloe: "Really?" Lynne: "I get too dry otherwise." Chloe: "That must be so weird, sleeping in a giant fish tank." Lynne: "Probably no weirder than walking with four legs."
- Chloe: "This might not be permanent, you know. They're working on a cure. I know — some of the people working on it. Seriously. I'll be first in line the moment they have it figured out."
- Lynne: "That's the thing. If I'm cured, I lose my job. And I love my job — I don't want to leave it. I get to spend all day swimming, and you should see how little girls look at me! They adore meeting a real live mermaid — and I love getting to be their Ariel."
- Lynne: "I just — I just want to be human every once in a while, y'know?" Chloe (lightbulb).
