- Iris. Sophia. Chloe. Iris stares at Chloe, with Sophia in between. Chloe: "?"
- Chloe: "Is something wrong?" Iris: "You're like made of the leftover parts of me." "It's weird — you have six limbs, hands, and can almost pass for human, and I'm just a head with feet."
- Chloe blanches. Chloe: "I, um, I'm so sorry — "
- Iris (grinning): "Hah, just joshin' ya. You can keep it. I'll take style over hands any day." "But if you ever want to talk about how to put some pizazz in that boring-ass white-bread look of yours, you gimme a call, okay?"

Your priorities are probably not her priorities.
I once knew a woman with no arms, and she was smart, genteel, and capable: She did everything with her feet, and she had no more trouble navigating the world than anyone else. There are many people who deal with these kinds of challenges every day, and I like the notion that Iris would fit in right along with them.
