- Chloe and Zia, outside the lab building. Sophia (at the door): "You're late, as usual." Zia: "A wizard is neither late, nor is she early; she arrives exactly when she means to."
- Sophia: "You brought your roommate?" Chloe: "Not willingly." Sophia: "That sounds like Zia." "Well, come on in. We're about to get started."
- Chloe (walking inside): "Is this going to be dangerous?" Zia: "Nah, it's fine! We run these tests all the time!"
- Sophia (pauses, pointing up): "But just in case — "
- Sophia (holds up safety goggles and points at the fire extinguisher): "— the hazmat suits are in there, you'll want these goggles, we have halon fire extinguishers every six feet, and, if needed, there are cyanide pills in the desk."
- Zia (irritably): "It's not that dangerous!" Sophia: "Last week you set my cactus on fire." Zia: "And I told you, I'll buy you another one!"
