- Lynne (dried off and in her living room on the couch with Chloe): "I was human until I got in the shower this morning, and then suddenly I'm a mermaid again!" "I guess Zia was right: I wasn't actually human after all."
- Chloe: "I'm sorry, Lynne." Lynne: "No, this is great!" Chloe: "Huh — ?"
- Lynne: "I realized I don't want to be human — I like this me! I just missed doing human things!" "But now if I'm really desperate to do human stuff, I can use your portal!" "I can go hiking for a day, or play tennis, and then I can go back to mermaid me!" "It's just enough to scratch the itch! It's perfect!"
- Chloe (depressed): "I'm glad everything worked out for you."
